DGrade T shirt competition
The T shirt design competition was open to Primary and Secondary School students and the winning designs will be printed on T shirts made using 3 plastic bottles .
We had a fantastic response from those schools taking part in the T shirt Design competition. Some of the designs were absolutely amazing and we would like to thank all those who took part. Honestly, the standard was so surprising to us and we congratulate all those who submitted their wonderful designs.
The Overall Winner is Shreeya Doshi Age 6yrs from Sharjah English School who managed to pick up a staggering 2,450 votes on Facebook!
In 2nd place is Josephine Dougan (Secondary School level) and also from Sharjah English School (must be something in the water!) who managed to get over 400 votes.
Prize Winner Presentation at Sharjah English School
Thursday 15th May, Dgrade visited Sharjah English School and presented the Prize Winner of the T shirt Competition Shreeya Doshi with her framed T shirt printed with her winning design. The whole Primary School was there to listen to our talk on Plastic, its effects on our environment and our process of how we turn discarded plastic bottles into items of clothing. We also had a few moments to look around the school and see some of the amazing work the students were doing on the subject of recycling.
Field Trip to Banyan Tree Resort Al Wadi
Sunday 18th May we met all of Shreeya’s Class at the fabulous Banyan Tree Resort (Al Wadi) in Ras Al Kaymah. The Children met the barn owl and then were privileged to see a demonstration with a Hawk, a nature trail where we saw Oryx and some of the many species that live in the Nature Park. The Children also had a chance to try Archery which they really enjoyed.
Thanks so much to Banyan Tree Al Wadi for making it such a special day for all the children.

7th June Ski Dubai
|The DGrade/Pepsico’s Plastic Challenge initiative made yet another compelling move to encourage students to recycle plastic and gave them an educational message along with an exceptional environmental experience.||The activity sponsored by Ski Dubai, invited top 30 voted winners from the t-shirt competition which ran on Facebook for a month. The finalists met the penguins, learnt about the different recycling streams and the older students also tried the new zip line that races 40’ above the ski slope.|
