We use Greenspun™ yarn to produce different types of fabrics and offer a range of clothing, uniforms, caps, bags, backpacks and accessories. We work with corporate clients to define their needs, design and manufacture according to their specifications.
The plastic bottles are collected, sorted, compacted, bailed, washed and then shredded into flakes. The plastic flakes are then heated and melted to produce both long and short fibres for yarn production. This yarn can be woven or knitted into fabric for everyday products like clothing.
We use PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) which is the clear plastic used for water and soda bottles. As a raw material PET is globally recognized as a safe, non-toxic, strong, lightweight, flexible material that is 100% recyclable. Though clear PET is preferred for the manufacturing process, we can also use blue PET 1 plastic.
Our manufacturing process to recycle plastic water bottles into yarn uses 50% less energy, 20% less water, produces 55% fewer carbon emissions and doesn’t use oil which is a finite resource.
Most importantly we prevent plastic water bottles from going to landfill.
